Maybe you’ve been carrying more than anyone knows. Maybe you’ve gotten used to hiding how hard it’s been. Therapy offers a space to slow down, get curious, and build something more grounded from the inside out.

Meet Ali Dennard, LCSW

Hi, I’m Ali — therapist, human, and founder of Emberwell.

I’m so glad you’re here. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I deeply respect the vulnerability it takes to look at the wounds, patterns, and pain you’ve been carrying. While emotional and relational struggles are part of being human, they can still feel incredibly isolating. My hope is that therapy can be a space where you feel seen, supported, and not so alone.

I work with teens and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, identity shifts, perfectionism, and those messy in-between seasons where life feels unclear or overwhelming. Many of my clients are searching for something more than just symptom relief—they’re looking for deeper understanding, emotional clarity, and lasting change that aligns with who they really are. My style is collaborative, warm, and real (with a little humor when it fits). I use evidence-based approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT, and narrative therapy to help you make sense of your story, regulate your emotions, and move toward healing that feels meaningful — not just clinical.

Before becoming a therapist, I studied public relations at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) and later earned my Master of Social Work. I’ve worked across a range of settings; including supporting survivors of domestic sex trafficking, treating trauma and general mental health at the Atlanta VA, and working with teens and adults at The Berman Center, an intensive outpatient program. These experiences shaped my understanding of how resilience and pain can coexist—and how therapy can be a powerful place to honor both.

When I’m not in session, you’ll find me watching Alabama football, going to concerts, traveling, spending time with friends, or hanging out with my two very spoiled rescue chihuahuas.

Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

  • Wisdom is in every part of you.

  • With understanding and care, change becomes possible.

  • Because healing can have lightness too.

  • Arrive as you are.

  • Healing happens in relationships.
